Change is coming

Timberly's a big girl now....she has even has a boyfriend, named Brandon, she knew in grade school in Oskaloosa. Bobbi seems to be infatuated with a short guy. She said she might be bringing him to meet us, which means seriousness. Melissa and I had a great time together, when I forced myself on her one weekend, and she called me to stay the night last night. Had to leave early though. Kenny, I don't hear from, and not much has changed there.....yet.

Today I bypassed the front lot gate with hot wire, mowed all around and inside so there'd be good contact, and proceeded to take the whole front lot fence down. All that's left to do is pop the Tposts out tomorrow before Kim gets here. We'll load up her truck with parts that she needs to create a living space for the monsters. They will be moving up there this week. Russ comes the 2nd of July and we'll be running out to Dad's at some point. Have that whole week of the 4th off. Then we'll have to get the shed out to her house at some point, and take the rest of the fence down, and put down a hella lot of grass seed. I'm going to sell my beautiful house. And move to Lawrence. It will be a great cost savings. I'll still go see Griff & Tucker, still support them as much as I can. Moving them is step one. Finances step 2. Dumpster and all non essentials gone, step 3. Flooring & paint & small repairs step 4. For Sale sign step 5. Rent an apt. with crappy credit step 6. May not finish till next spring or summer, but I gotta make a change.

I still wanna ride.

May 2011

Friday after work, went over to Melissa & John's, for dinner.... to celebrate Timber's boyfriend, Brandon's, birthday. We made spaghetti & meatballs, had salad from Mel's garden, breadsticks, and strawberry cake with square cupcakes as the top layer, and big, fat strawberries.

Saturday was a slow, lazy morning. Paid bills and cleaned out my car. In the evening we went to Golden Corral for the all you can eat babyback ribs. Mom, Cheryl, Timbers & Brandon. Then went to the casino to pick up cigs. The picture above was about 45 cents in. Won $40 something on that. Was told by a worker that you can't take pictures in a casino. I always wanted to win the triple, 5x7.....it would have been fantastic to have more money in, and that double bar be another 7 or triple!

Tornados and storms last night. Hail bigger than I had seen before. Cars were in the garage, and horses must have ran for the barn. Kim is coming out to check out Griff's hoof, where it looks like the inside edge is sheared off. Laundry & shopping for me today.

KK's BD

My baby boy turned 18 on March 15th. We celebrated at Jeremiah Bullfrog's in Topeka. I invited Jim to dance, but I don't think he got it.

It's actually April 11th. Took me this long to recover my password to get on here. Today, I just typed a little, and bam, I'm in. I'm an idiot.

My 3 youngest eggs are moving in together, in a townhouse, in Lawrence on Saturday. I'm so sad, and yet, very happy and hopeful for them.

I have a new Iphone coming on Wed. I hate talking on phones, pretty much. I guess if I have to do it, I want to do it with style.

Going to Kentucky on the 22nd. Dad's doing well, they just want to give us money. I want to grab some 200 year old hand made bricks and some paw paw seeds. Play a little Bingo.

I detest outsource scheduling. I like the people, but it just doesn't flow right. And because it's housewares, I don't think it ever can. Do not want to do this next year. I got to make a resume. It would be kick ass and stylish, I'm sure. Since I'm about to lose $744 a month in child support and Timberly income, and I owe the IRS $817 because Kenny turned 17 last year, I really can't afford to leave my job. The credit card people want to get me too.

I changed my room around and have sorted and trashed some stuff. I really like the half I've worked on. Will continue this, but need new paint. Want to ride.

2010 is so over....

This is who I felt like I was in 2010. The wicked queen, giving everyone their hearts back in a box. All the stress of Kenny, my job, finances, and going through a year of rough menopause, me me really evil. I hope that's all it was. In 2011, I resolve to be kinder, and not so snarky & crazy.

I would also like to resolve to not be so lazy. There are alot of things I need to take care of. Kenny will be 18. The girls are probably going to move out on their own, as they don't really like the country life.

Kiss 2010 goodbye forever. Hello, 2011, and a brand new start!

Melissa's birthday, continued

In our family, birthdays last a long time. At least several days. You ask someone who has a birthday coming up, or even just past, to do something, and you get, "but it's my birthday". More likely they will ask you to do something for them, or buy them something, because it's their birthday. Anyway, she made her own birthday, at her own house, on the 27th. She barbecued pork for pulled pork sandwiches, and ribs, and made 2 pans of macaroni and white truffle-cheese, one without garlic, just for me. She made blue cheese coleslaw and vanilla sour cream ice cream. And Cheryl made the pavlova, pictured above. It was fabulous. I didn't like the crunchy dry part of the meringue layers, but loaded with whipped cream and strawberries (from our own garden), and blackberries, it was delicious. The ice cream was rich, and really good, but probably couldn't eat a bowl of it. Just a spoonful was nice. And we were stuffed. Again. Also had a glass of wine and 1 1/2 bottles of black cherry soda. I gave her her carribean blue panta, a pair of leopard fur flip flops with ribbons, and a bag of cracker jack. Good times.

Back to work today and I am bored out of my mind.

Melissa's birthday, and the day after.

That's my first egg, that became a child of mine. The wild child, herself. Melissa Paige, last name Darling, at this time. I love her energy.

My sister and I ended up eating buffet Thanksgiving at the casino. It was pretty darn good! And we had alot of fun playing different machines. Ended up there for 5 hours or so, and I had to be dragged out, pratically by my hair. Lucky my second & third eggs were here to feed the horses for me. They tell me I owe them. Ha.

It's cold outside. 18 degrees this morning, but supposed to warm up to 50. That's not warm. I don't wanna go out there.

Thanks-giving 2010

This is where I would be oh so thankful for. Black sand beach in Hawaii. I can't even dream of being able to go there. Melissa went there on her honeymoon. Can't even go to my Dad's for the holiday cause my car isn't reliable.

I didn't mean it, Monte! I love you!

Mom is in San Diego (I could say something snarky about that), and my ungrateful children, spawned from my unreliable eggs (I believe the older eggs had degraded somewhat, and the earlier eggs had some slight genetic alterations), are feasting with their OTHER families, leaving only my steadfast sister and myself, on our own for the day. No cooking this year. We did that last year, and sat across the table from each other with a mountain of food, too tired to eat it, knowing we had to clean it all up.

No we're going out. Golden Corral is offering a Thanksgiving buffet this year, and the casino may be calling our names.

4 days off is a gift, and I intend to use it.
